Catholic, and not only because it has symbols that makes us remind of it in its walls, but because it investigates and teaches each particular science with the certainty that from there it can better understand mankind and the world as a whole, with the certainty that to use reason is to open the soul to the essence and final meaning of things.

Community of seekers of truth, who knows that truth is not possessed but is longed for and pursued. Community that knows itself as much more than the sum of talents. Community that seeks the reason of things, knows its good and transforms the world.

Integral formation is the very main thing of a university that pretends to speak to the humanity of today. Because, how can we acquire knowledge if affectivity, will and circumstances are not accompanied and educated too?

The Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI Vatican Foundation aims to promote the study of theology and the theological/cultural discussion at the heart of modern society. It does so through a grant program for doctorate degrees in theology, as well as organizing conferences of great cultural and scientific value in partnership with various universities worldwide. Among its awards is the prestigious Ratzinger Prize, which recognizes the work of those men and women, Catholic or not, who have dedicated their scholarly lives to the gospel, making it comprehensible for their contemporaries.

It also promotes the Expanded Reason Awards with University Francisco de Vitoria, which recognize the efforts of professors and researchers to broaden the horizons of reason, through the dialogue that sciences and disciplines have with philosophy and theology.
